Festrum is a space to discover and share what's happening in your city. For it to be safe and enjoyable for everyone, we expect everyone to follow these guidelines. This policy complements our Terms of Service.
1. What we don't allow
Zero tolerance for:
- Exploitation or sexualization of minors: any content that sexualizes, exposes, or endangers minors will be removed immediately and reported to the relevant authorities.
- Violence and dangerous content: threats, incitement to violence, extreme graphic content, or instructions to cause harm.
- Hate speech: attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or medical condition.
- Harassment and bullying: targeted attacks, doxxing (publishing others' private information), or repeated harassing behavior.
- Sexual content: explicit nudity or unsolicited sexual material.
- Self-harm and suicide: content that promotes, glorifies, or provides instructions about self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please seek professional help immediately.
- Harmful misinformation: false information that could cause physical, health-related, or panic-inducing harm.
- Spam and fraud: unauthorized advertising, pyramid schemes, scams, or automated (bot) accounts.
- Impersonation: fake profiles pretending to be another person, brand, or real business.
- Illegal activities: sale of drugs, weapons, fake documents, or other illegal goods/services.
2. How we moderate
We use a combination of:
- Automated moderation: images posted go through automated analysis that detects sexual, violent, or hateful content before becoming publicly visible.
- Community reports: any user can report posts, comments, profiles, businesses, or reviews using the "Report" button. Reports are anonymous to the reported person.
- Human review: our team reviews pending reports and determines actions to take, generally within 24-48 hours.
3. Sanctions system
Violations are handled by severity through a tiered system:
- Level 1 — Warning: notification informing of the violation. The account remains active.
- Level 2 — Temporary restriction: limitation of certain features (posting, commenting, messages) for a set period.
- Level 3 — Permanent suspension: the account is permanently deactivated. Applies to severe violations or repeat offenses.
Violations related to minors' safety result in immediate Level 3 suspension, with no intermediate steps.
4. Appeals
If you received a sanction and believe it was a mistake, you can submit an appeal from your account screen within the app. Our team will review your case. If the appeal is accepted, the sanction is lifted and your account is restored.
5. Reporting content
To report a post, comment, profile, or business: tap the options icon (•••) on the content and select "Report". Choose the reason that best describes the issue and, if you wish, add additional details. We will review your report and take action if appropriate.
6. Businesses and promotions
Business profiles must represent real, operating businesses. Promotions must be truthful regarding prices, discounts, and availability. Businesses that post false information, scam users, or violate these guidelines may be suspended.
7. Help resources
If you or someone you know is going through a mental health crisis, self-harm, or suicidal thoughts, we recommend contacting a local helpline or a trusted health professional as soon as possible.
